Joelle is an award-winning film editor with over two decades experience in editing intimate, character-based documentaries, TV series, films and high-end commercials.

 

Her work has screened widely on ABC, SBS, Stan, Apple TV, Topic as well as high profile Australian and International film festivals.

Having immigrated from France to Australia to further her studies at the Victorian College of the Arts she started her career at Sydney’s prestigious post production house Karl Marks Films - now the Editors. From those early days her editing career has taken her around the world, she spent 2 years in Tokyo cutting a tv series for New York based broadcaster Global Japan followed by a freelancing stint in Paris.

Her passion for film and her craft ensures a creative commitment to each project and a keen sense of pacing and story structure.

Editing highlights include Marcelle Lunam's feature documentary Habana Shakes, a window into youth culture in Havana, through the eyes of five young Cubans (winner of the Best Film at the 2023 Byron Bay International Film Festival), Danny Ben Moshe's feature documentary China's Artful Dissident which screened widely on ABC, Stan, Topic as well as film festivals internationally (winner of the Award of Excellence at the Impact Docs Award 2019 and short-listed for the 2019 Documentary Walkley Awards) // Scott Dale's film, Tommy won Joelle best editor at Long Story Shorts and the Focus Film Festival. The film also won best short film at the LA Shorts Festival and is now screening on Apple TV // Festival Records' documentary on legendary singer Jimmy Little toured multiple international  and national film festivals including Flickerfest and the St Kilda short film festival // Australian short film Mother premiered nationally at MIFF and internationally at Berlin Interfilm // ABC 11 episode tv series, Wild Kitchen  now available on Apple TV (nominated for a Logie Award).

Commercial work includes Jasmin Tarasin's multi award winning campaign for Bonds  (Silver and Bronze recipient at the AWARD awards) // Justin’ McMillan's cinematic TVC campaign for Mantra Hotels, (silver winner at the BADC awards).

 

Now, based in Australia she continues to collaborate with creatives to bring high quality editorial and creative solutions to any selected production.
